Project Timeline: February 2023 – January 2024
Project Scope:
Social Media Content Creation
Strategic Social Media Campaign
Paid Social Media Advertising
Billboard Design and Placement
Problem:
South Carolina has faced ongoing challenges related to pedestrian and cyclist safety on its roadways. Recognizing a need for increased public education and awareness, the Palmetto Cycling Coalition (PCC) sought to engage the public and advocate for improved road safety through strategic communication efforts.
Solution:
Palmetto Cycling Coalition partnered with EMILY Revolutionary Marketing Group to develop and implement a statewide awareness campaign focused on promoting pedestrian and cyclist safety.
Key Actions Taken:
Social Media Campaign Development:
Created and executed a multi-phase content strategy designed to raise awareness, educate the public, and drive engagement on PCC’s social media platforms.
Developed compelling visuals and messaging that highlighted key road safety statistics, best practices, and calls to action.
Paid Advertising and Outreach:
Launched targeted social media ads to expand the reach of the campaign beyond PCC’s existing followers.
Monitored performance analytics to optimize reach, impressions, and engagement.
Outdoor Advertising:
Designed eye-catching billboard advertisements that aligned with the social media campaign themes.
Coordinated placement of billboards in high-traffic areas to increase visibility and reinforce messaging across multiple channels.
Outcome:
The campaign significantly increased awareness of road safety issues affecting cyclists and pedestrians in South Carolina. PCC and community partners have reported improved engagement and interest in the organization’s advocacy work.
Next Steps:
PCC has submitted an application for additional grant funding to expand this campaign into a larger, statewide initiative—including increased billboard coverage, enhanced social media advertising, and broader public outreach efforts—pending approval.
