Problem:

Engaging young learners—particularly outside of traditional K–12 education systems—in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) remains a significant challenge. Janet’s Planet, a dynamic STEAM education initiative led by Janet Ivey, needed a strong digital presence and professional support to scale her programming and meet the requirements of a NASA STEM engagement grant.


Solution:

Janet’s Planet partnered with EMILY™ Revolutionary Marketing Group to refine and elevate her brand, support grant proposal development, and create impactful, grant-aligned digital and print content to reach a national audience of young learners.


Key Actions Taken:

  • Brand Identity & Website Redesign:

    • Redesigned the Janet’s Planet website to align with updated brand guidelines, enhancing visual appeal, usability, and functionality.

    • Updated the online shop to feature new educational products, including resources tied to the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse.

    • Developed an interactive Eclipse Scavenger Hunt, which included observation prompts, a quiz, and a digital certificate of completion to enhance user engagement.


  • Social Media Campaigns & Content Creation:

    • Designed and implemented a branded social media campaign featuring static posts and short-form videos to drive engagement and awareness of STEAM programming.

    • Ensured all content met NASA grant objectives related to public engagement and educational value.


  • Grant Reporting & Impact Tracking:

    • Created detailed engagement reports to support Janet’s grant reporting needs, demonstrating reach and effectiveness of campaign materials.

    • Provided analytics support and guidance to optimize future grant proposals and project reporting.


Print Collateral:

Designed engaging print materials to support both digital and in-person STEAM learning experiences.


Outcome:

Through EMILY’s strategic branding, web development, and content expertise, Janet’s Planet successfully expanded its reach and impact, earning a NASA STEM engagement grant and delivering accessible, exciting STEAM content to a broad youth audience. The campaign met and exceeded engagement benchmarks, positioning Janet’s Planet for continued success in the educational media space.
